Flax Seed Oil

Flax seed oil is derived from the seeds of the particular plant called Flax. This oil is significant in the sense that it promotes good health. The presence of alpha-lanoline acid (ALA) makes the flax seed oil very rich. This acid is also considered as an essential fatty acid which proves to be quite beneficial for various health problems. In fact the various benefits of flax seed oil include the cure of inflammatory bowel disease, heart disease, arthritis and various other such diseases. Flaxseed in addition to the acid called ALA comprises of a group of chemicals called lingams. This also contributes mainly in the prevention of cancer.
The flax seed oil is available from the seed of flax seed plant. This oil comprises of 50% to 60% omega and 3 fatty acids which is regarded as double the amount contained in fish oil. The oil available from flax seed is mainly available in liquid forms and soft gel capsule forms. As the flax seed oil is easily destroyed by light, heat and oxygen it requires special packaging. The highest qualities of flax seed oil are manufactured using seeds which are freshly pressed. However dietary doses of this oil should be taken under medical supervision.
